How Aspire Hub Coaches Social Studies
Source-Based Case Study (SBQ) Skills
The SBQ component requires students to analyse, compare and evaluate sources. Our coaches teach students to identify the purpose, perspective and limitations of sources, and to construct well-supported answers using the LORM (Levels of Response Marking) framework.
Structured Essay Question (SEQ) Techniques
SEQs require students to present a balanced argument supported by evidence. Our coaches teach students to plan structured essays, use the PEEL framework, and address both sides of an argument before reaching a well-justified conclusion.
Issue-Based Content Mastery
Social Studies content is organised around three key issues. Our coaches ensure students have a thorough understanding of all three issues — including the relevant case studies, government policies and stakeholder perspectives — and can apply this knowledge effectively in examinations.
Examination Technique and Time Management
Social Studies examinations require students to manage their time carefully across SBQ and SEQ components. Our coaches provide timed practice under examination conditions and teach students to allocate time effectively to maximise their marks.
